{"id":67,"date":"2011-07-22T22:51:35","date_gmt":"2011-07-23T03:51:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/victoriaboardman.com\/studio\/?p=67"},"modified":"2019-12-15T04:58:20","modified_gmt":"2019-12-15T09:58:20","slug":"website-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/victoriaboardman.com\/studio\/website-update\/","title":{"rendered":"Website Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have finally added some new content to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.victoriaboardman.com\">my art website<\/a>, which is sorely outdated and continues to lag at least 3-6 years behind what I&#8217;m currently doing.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve got lots of good excuses, but the fact is, I like making art more than websites. I hand-coded that site in 2003 using tables and HTML, so it is slow and laborious to update. I usually put off updating it because I claim I&#8217;m going to redesign the whole site <i>any day now<\/i>, but that day still has not come in half a decade, so it&#8217;s probably time to quit pretending.<\/p>\n<p>So what did I add?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/victoriaboardman.com\/burgeoning.html\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.victoriaboardman.com\/studio\/public_html\/studio\/wp-content\/uploads\/bgthumb.jpg\"\/><\/a><br \/>\nThe biggest update is my MFA thesis exhibit, <a href=\"http:\/\/victoriaboardman.com\/burgeoning.html\">Burgeoning<\/a>. That page links to images, installation views, and detail views, as well as a PDF of my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.victoriaboardman.com\/VBoardman_MFA_Thesis_Statement.pdf\">corollary statement<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.victoriaboardman.com\/entangled.html\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.victoriaboardman.com\/images\/entangledthumb.jpg\"\/><\/a><br \/>\nI added a second section to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.victoriaboardman.com\/painting.html\">Painting<\/a> area of my portfolio, a loosely-organized series of small works called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.victoriaboardman.com\/entangled.html\">Entangled<\/a>. There are actually a number of other works that belong in that series but, I must sheepishly admit, I haven&#8217;t even photographed them yet. Soon?<\/li>\n<li>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/victoriaboardman.com\/comingapart.html\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.victoriaboardman.com\/images\/comingapart\/comingapartthumb.jpg\"\/><\/a><br \/>\nI added a new series of <a href=\"http:\/\/victoriaboardman.com\/worksonpaper.html\">Works on Paper<\/a>, called <a href=\"http:\/\/victoriaboardman.com\/comingapart.html\">Coming Apart<\/a>. This is a small series of works from 2006 done with acrylic and occasional other materials like graphite and permanent marker.<\/li>\n<li>I included a link to a PDF of my <a href=\"http:\/\/victoriaboardman.com\/VictoriaAnneBoardman_CV_July2011.pdf\">Curriculum Vitae<\/a>, and I updated the <a href=\"http:\/\/victoriaboardman.com\/press.html\">Press and Publications<\/a> section with some of my scientific work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And because I am apparently in a race to occupy the most bandwidth possible, I updated the <a href=\"http:\/\/victoriaboardman.com\/contact.html\">Contact<\/a> section with links to my other websites and places I can be found on social media. I haven&#8217;t decided if this is a good idea or not, since I do tend to say a lot of silly and unprofessional things, but I am who I am, so I might as well own it.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;d love any comments, questions, suggestions, or other feedback you may have about the updates or the work itself, and I hope to have more updates coming soon.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have finally added some new content to my art website, which is sorely outdated and continues to lag at least 3-6 years behind what I&#8217;m currently doing.
